Luckily, small holes\u00a0can easily be fixed with a simple vinyl repair kit. But even more important than\u00a0knowing how to repair small holes, is knowing how to prevent them in the first\u00a0place.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px; line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>When setting up an inflatable unit on a cement surface, use a vinyl tarp (or ground\u00a0covering) to protect it. This helps to shield your inflatable unit from rubbing against\u00a0cement for several hours, which can wreak havoc on your investment. When setting\u00a0up a wet inflatable unit on cement, don\u2019t use a vinyl tarp. Instead, use a canvas tarp. \u00a0Vinyl can become very slippery when wet, and this can cause a serious safety issue.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px; line-height: 1.5em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-18\" src=\"https:\/\/www.einflatables.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/sports-complex-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.einflatables.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/sports-complex-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.einflatables.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/sports-complex-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.einflatables.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/sports-complex.jpg 560w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px; line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A little common sense goes a long way when it comes to further protecting your\u00a0units. Sharp objects and toys shouldn\u2019t be allowed inside, as this can potentially\u00a0cause unwarranted holes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px; line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>When a small tear does occur, utilize your repair kit. A vinyl repair kit usually\u00a0consists of two items: vinyl and vinyl cement. It is important to keep in mind that\u00a0a vinyl repair kit will only work if the rip is in the vinyl itself. If a rip, tear, or hole\u00a0occurs in the seam of your unit, you will need to send it to a <strong>repair center. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px; line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11px; line-height: 1.5em;\">T<\/span>o repair a hole in the vinyl, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Cut a circle or an oval out of your spare vinyl. Never cut a square, as this gives\u00a0the patch corners, which could invite tugs\/pulls to the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Dot a small amount (a thin coat) of vinyl glue around the periphery of your\u00a0vinyl piece, and onto the vinyl of the inflatable unit, around where the hole is\u00a0present.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Wait 30 seconds or so, until the glue becomes cloudy and tacky. Then, place\u00a0the patch around the hole <em>(never put glue in the hole itself).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Always remember to glue the vinyl patch to the vinyl of your inflatable unit. \u00a0<em>Vinyl to vinyl.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-size: 11px; line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>It pays to purchase inflatable units with a constant air source, as this ensures that\u00a0the unit is always at a safe and constant pressure while the unit is running. You\u2019ll\u00a0always want to check for holes after your inflatable has been used. If you notice a rip\u00a0or a tear that is larger than a vinyl repair kit can fix, make sure your unit isn\u2019t used\u00a0again until it is properly repaired.
